I waited many years for someone asking for a tattoo of this painting.
This is a well known philosopher jester Stańczyk portrayed by Jan Matejko. His smiley face was na allegory for a political situation in Poland, when Kings and Queens had a ball but the same time parts of country was lost to Moscow.
Only he seems to care about long term impact that the situation had for the country.
